Do you also enjoy collecting drift wood while walking along the sea shore? I love the twirly shape of these sanded pieces of wood and still had a drawer full of them from our vacation last year. But what can you make out them? Finally, THE idea hit me: a key hanger! So I grabbed a tube of wood glue and glued the drift wood together one by one, creating a board. At the end, there were some smaller pieces left that serve well as hooks to hold the keys. After letting it dry overnight, I attached a wire via two wood screws. The wire is then used to mount the key hanger to one or two metal hooks in the wall. Viola! When we now enter our apartment and return our keys, this beautiful key hanger is not only a dedicated place for keys, but also reminds us of the great time we had on our vacation.
